AVM Reseller Success Story - Royal Society of Medicine
AVM Reseller Success Story - Royal Society of Medicine

The Guy Whittle Auditorium at the Royal Society of Medicine had previously been an ornate multi-function room complete with oil paintings and chandeliers.

When the decision was taken to convert the room into a state of the art 80-seat academic facility, Audio Visual Manager Kevin McLoughlin knew that the right choice of audio visual technology would be crucial.

Kevin wanted a very bright, full HD 3 chip projector to give a real wow factor to displays within the auditorium. In conjunction with distributor Audio Visual Material and his AV integrator, he visited Christie HQ, where a projector shoot out had been arranged.

This combination of expert consultation and hands-on testing made the choice of the Christie HD- 10KM straight forward. A contributing factor in the decision was the 4-year swap out warranty available on the projector.

Once installed, the Christie was performing perfectly. However, in some areas of the room, the noise generated was intrusive and impacting on the comfort of the audience. The solution was an Audipack projector silencer. Once fitted, the noise was completely eradicated.

Although initially a little concerned that the silencer would impact on the aesthetics of the room, Kevin is more than happy with the result.

He comments “the auditorium is in almost constant use and so it was vital that I found the optimum AV solution. I’ve been really impressed with the way all parties involved have worked together to help me make the right decision.”
